Almost every weekend, Colin Rowley is either out running with his co-runners or entered in an official race, local or further a field.
It has been a number of years now since he raised over £2000 for Cancer Research and for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham
So when he realised that he had several races every weekend for a number of weeks, he decided to make it worthwhile by running for charity again in a fancy dress costume. It was not hard to decide on a costume as he has always been a Scooby Doo fan.
He suggested that I ask my colleagues if there were any charities close to their hearts which he could run for. One of those suggested was the Prostate Cancer Support Association (Central England), and Colin’s workmates at Land Rover were all in favour of this one too.
He ran in the following races, and Scooby Doo got soaked to the skin a few times and also became very hot and sweaty on several occasions!
Thanks to all our colleagues, family and friends at Lloyds Pharmacy, Land Rover, and Bermuda Striders Running Club, we have raised £1100 for this worthwhile charity.
Scooby Doo has gone into temporary hibernation.
